"...The song makes me feel like I’m riding an escalator into an acid-induced heaven. Metallic claps and spaced-out vocals make the track every stoner’s fantasy. Be sure to look for it in my upcoming podcast …."(discoworkout.com) "This is one of the best Italo Disco songs of all time. I could see Daft Punk being inspired by this song for the album Discovery. It does kinda lag in the middle when they have some guy saying in broken English “Hello, can you tell me what’s about the cybernetic love.” but I guess that just adds comic relief. For some reason I don’t really know what else to say about this song. I think you should just listen to it." (the dirty frenchman musiquarium.com) "...Casco is arguably one of the main icons the Italodisco scene" (WikiMusicGuide.com) "...Futuristic? Yes! Sexy? Sleazy as blood red lipstick! Grab onto your seats and slip on your black gloves as Death Disco Radio.com brings you yet another fabulously italo-licious mix from the legendary Italian DJ Producer Salvatore Cusato aka Casco.." (Death Disco Radio.com) " Casco what a legend! Went to see Casco last night and what an absolutely mindblowing set it was! A non-stop of the absolute best italo disco ever produced. Every single track was a classic and the small but enthusiastic crowd went crazy with each new one he whacked on. And whacked he did..." ( Last.fm blog by Sharevari . DJ set Casco London)." "...Italodisco pioneers Alexander Robotnik and Casco deliver to back DJ sets, heavy on the vocoder choruses, drum computers and arm waving. This is the missing link between electro and House, and not a soul can resist..." (The Wire Magazine- UK. Report on Borealis Festival). "...Currently listening to the deliriously catchy 'come ..r' by the pineapples - perhaps the greatest italo-disco track ever (after 'cybernetic love' by casco)...."(astralbunny.blogspot.com) "The kind of bona fide classic that is well overdue a reissue, this slice of Italo Disco gets dusted down by the good folk over at Radius - bringing Salvatore Cusato's (aka Casco) first release forward 23 years and discovering it still sounds as fresh as a daisy... Seductive in that way only old electronic tracks are, 'Cybernetic Love' sounds organic in its progression - as Casco lets gloopy disco beats spill out over the cold-water synths and straight-laced vocals. For those who prefer their italo without the lyrical incursion, there's an instrumental to keep you happy, whilst the obligatory remix is provided by Dexter; choosing to beef up the original into a jacked electro stomper" (boomkat.uk) "The Radius crew continue to dig deep into the Italo vaults and manage to pull out another gem! This was the first record released by Salvatore 'Casco' Cusato back in 1983 and features a plethora of hard-hitting Italo melodies that come complete with the richness of sound and charming wonkiness we've come to expect from tunes of that era. You get the orignal and instrumental versions as well as a great re-working from Dexter who strips everything back and adds in an extra catchy vocoder line" (warprecords.com) "...Another toy epic from the golden era of Italo-disco, luxurious and overblown, it has all the right ingredients: the syrupy, synthetic E-strangled vocals - weary, banal with a melancholic twinge - with the driest electro percussion and sweet-shop melodies, cheap, day-glo and artificial, that tackiness is the appeal..." (http://gabba/CC/ ) "... This remains my all-time favourite italo track, despite fierce competition from more recent discoveries such as Mr Flagio's 'Take a chance'. In fact it would appear there is a link. is not coincidental, they both featured the same musicians. So as you might expect this is more synth-drenched sugary electro heaven, complete with those all important vocodered vocals. Cybernetic Love is as synthetic as those brightly coloured gummy sweets you see in LIDL and contains fewer natural ingredients than Sunny D. But then what else would you expect from an early 80s Italian tale of robotic love? Truly amazing..." (Andrew Back discopia.com) "... The best year for Italo Disco music from a true Italo lover's standpoint is without a doubt 1983! So many hits, so many memories...The House Of Music label also makes some waves with several masterpieces. First, B.W.H. releases a double single entitled, "Stop" / "Livin' Up", often considered to be the most well-crafted Italo Disco release ever made! Next release on the label: "A Dog In The Night" by Mr. Master becomes another major hit. However, it was the third release on House Of Music label that set the tone for the perfect song: "Cybernetic Love" by Casco, a vocoder and synthesizer masterpiece..."( http://www.myspace.com/italodisco1 ) "..Interesting looking package this, a double edged Italo-disco winner from Casco, backed up with the pick of the new Rotterdam school, all lovingly reissued on this belgian imprint. The originals are arpeggiated and of course very much of their time, yet strangely of this as well - kind of a mid point betwen moroder and the highly vogueish ze records, machine music with a dash of human and instrumental content. 'Livin up' is the winner here, a countdown into fatbacked drums, handclaps and a histrionic main theme. But in all honesty, its all about the remixes - Bangkok Impact's sizeable bassline, acid and mechanised vocal redrawing of 'Stop' rocks the spot most effectively, while Putsch 79 offer 'Livin up' new legs, paring down all extraneous elements, leaving a bare bones disco thumper with just the right elements remaining. Tasty..." (boomkat.com)// |
